A BURLEIGH business building roads in some of the most remote areas of the world has earned an engineer a finals spot in a Gold Coast business award.
Sebastian Karsas, from Proof Engineers, is one of the finalists in the 2011 Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards.
Mr Karsas is one of the directors of the engineering company that uses the art of road stabilisation with engineering principles to build better roads in remote areas that have material and cost restraints.
Since the company started in February, its revenue had reached $1.5 million and growth next year is expected to be in the range of 50% to 70%.
David Handel and Peter Parkinson are two other directors of Proof Engineers who nominated the engineer graduate for the 2011 Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards.
Awards founder Jason Oxenbridge said the finalists each brought key quality to their respective organisations.
“It’s overwhelming to see such incredible dedication and tenacity by all of the finalists, but what inspires the judges each year is the leadership qualities they possess,” he said.
